Tradesperson Jobs (CW5)
- Qualified tradesperson, CW5
- Sydney, NSW and South East Queensland
- Trade certificate or licence, own tools
- AU work rights required
We are hiring qualified tradespeople for labour hire and permanent roles: carpenters and formwork carpenters, boilermakers and welders, mechanical fitters, plumbers, electricians and commissioning electricians, blaster painters and concrete cutting operators.
Hire work suits a tradie between contracts or one who wants to pick the jobs. Permanent work suits a tradie who wants to move into the group's own remediation, concrete cutting or demolition crews. Tell us which on the form and we will point you the right way.
Perfect Hire is the labour hire arm of Perfect Group. We put inducted, ticketed people onto construction sites for builders, civil contractors and the group's own demolition, concrete cutting and remediation crews. Most of the work is on Tier 1 sites around Sydney and New South Wales, with a Queensland base at Slacks Creek, and a lot of it comes in at short notice.
Fill in the form below and someone will ring you back within one business day. It takes about two minutes. Attach a CV if you have one handy, or reply to the confirmation email with it.

What the work is
- Trade work on commercial, civil, rail, water and industrial sites, mostly for Tier 1 builders and their subcontractors.
- Formwork, structural steel, pipe and mechanical work, electrical and commissioning, coatings and concrete repairs, depending on your trade.
- Running a trade assistant or a small crew when the job calls for it.
- Working to the drawings, the ITPs and the client's quality system, and signing off what you did.
- Shutdown and outage work for industrial clients when it comes up, which is usually well paid and short notice.
Tickets and experience we look for
Tell us what you actually hold. Missing one or two is not a problem.
- A trade certificate, a recognised overseas qualification, or a trade licence where the trade needs one, for example plumbing or electrical.
- White Card, Working at Heights and Confined Space, plus your trade's own tickets, for example coded welding or EWP.
- Your own tools and a vehicle to get them to site.
- Rail, metro, water or tunnel inductions put you near the front of the queue.
- Several years on site. We will ask about the jobs, not just the paperwork.
What it pays
Pay depends on your tickets, your experience and the site. Tell us what you are on now and we will be straight with you. Long hours, weekend shifts and travel work all pay more, and people who turn up every day get first pick of the next job. This role sits at CW5 on the construction worker classifications. There is a plain English guide to what each level means on our construction worker classifications page.
Other names for this job
Companies label this role differently and so do candidates. If your last job was called carpenter, formwork carpenter, boilermaker, welder, fabricator, mechanical fitter, plumber, electrician, commissioning electrician, blaster painter, tradie, trade qualified, qualified tradesman, tradesperson labour hire, and the work matches what is above, this is the same job. We hire on what you can do on site, not on the title.
What we are like to work for
Labour hire has a bad name in places and we know it. What we do differently is simple. You are inducted properly before you start, you are not sent to a site you are not ticketed for, and there is a real person at Marrickville who answers the phone when something is wrong. Timesheets go through the Fieldworker app, so there are no arguments about hours. Do the job well and we keep you working, and the best people get offered permanent roles with the group's own crews.
Work rights
You need the right to work in Australia. We do not sponsor visas and we do not charge anyone a fee to apply or to be placed, ever. If someone asks you for money to get a job with us, it is not us. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
What happens after you apply
- You get an email straight away confirming we have your application.
- Someone rings you within one business day, on the mobile number you give us.
- If you did not attach a CV, reply to that confirmation email with it. It is the fastest way to get in front of us.
- We keep your details on file. Even if there is nothing today, we come back to people when the right job lands, which is often only days later with hire work.
Where the work is
Head office is at 4/8 Lilian Fowler Place, Marrickville, and the Queensland base is at 23 Aranda Street, Slacks Creek. Hire work goes wherever our clients are building: greater Sydney, the Central Coast, Wollongong and the Hunter, plus South East Queensland. Some jobs need people who will travel or work away. Say so on the form if that suits you.
Other roles
We are also hiring: General Labourer jobs (CW2), Trade Assistant jobs (CW3), High Risk Work Operator jobs (CW4). Permanent roles with the group's own crews, from demolition labourers to supervisors and estimators, are listed on the Work With Us page.
