High Risk Work Operator Jobs (CW4)

  • High risk work operator, CW4
  • Sydney, NSW and South East Queensland
  • Current HRW licence, plant ticket or scaffold and rigging ticket
  • AU work rights required
Apply now, takes 2 minutes

We are hiring people who hold a high risk work licence or a plant ticket: EWP over 11 metres, forklift and telehandler, dogging and rigging, scaffolding, hoist and crane operators, excavator, skid steer and roller operators.

Clients ring us when a ticketed operator has not turned up or when a job has grown, so a lot of this work starts the next morning. If you hold the licence, have used it on a real site, and can be there at 6.30, we can keep you busy.

Perfect Hire is the labour hire arm of Perfect Group. We put inducted, ticketed people onto construction sites for builders, civil contractors and the group's own demolition, concrete cutting and remediation crews. Most of the work is on Tier 1 sites around Sydney and New South Wales, with a Queensland base at Slacks Creek, and a lot of it comes in at short notice.

Fill in the form below and someone will ring you back within one business day. It takes about two minutes. Attach a CV if you have one handy, or reply to the confirmation email with it.

    The basics

Two minutes. Everything marked with a star is required, and the more you fill in the faster we can place you.

We are hiring in NSW, QLD and WA, including FIFO mining work out of Perth. Pick "Anywhere in Australia" if you will travel.
You must already have the right to work in Australia. We are not able to sponsor visas.
Pick the closest one. The next questions change to match.

    The work you want

These are compulsory. They are how we match you to a job.

John Holland, CPB, Acciona, Laing O'Rourke, that level of site.
A lot of our work is same-day and short notice. Be honest, it helps us both.
PDF or Word, up to 5MB. If you do not have one on your phone, submit anyway and reply to our email with it.

    Your experience

The more you tick, the better we can match you to a job.

    References and availability

A work reference or a character reference. Three is ideal, one is enough to get started.
Fly-in fly-out, drive-in drive-out, or away for a stint. The away jobs usually pay better.
Pick the one that suits you best right now.

Compulsory. A few lines is fine, but give us real employers and real jobs. It is what we search when a role comes up.

    What the work is

    • Operating EWPs, forklifts, telehandlers, hoists and excavators on commercial, civil and infrastructure sites.
    • Dogging, rigging and scaffolding on structural, facade and industrial jobs, including crane crew work.
    • Plant and machine spotting, exclusion zones and permits when you are the ticketed person on the crew.
    • Confined space entry and standby work for water, tunnel and industrial clients.
    • Reading the lift plan, the SWMS or the permit before you start, and stopping the job when it does not match.

Tickets and experience we look for

Tell us what you actually hold. Missing one or two is not a problem.

    • A current high risk work licence for the class you want to work in, or a verified plant competency for excavator, skid steer, roller or loader.
    • White Card, Working at Heights and Confined Space, and any of the rail, metro, water or tunnel inductions.
    • Real hours on the machine or the ticket, not just the course. We will ask what you have done.
    • A driver licence. An MR or HR truck licence opens up more work.
    • Comfortable being the person responsible for the exclusion zone.

    What it pays

Pay depends on your tickets, your experience and the site. Tell us what you are on now and we will be straight with you. Long hours, weekend shifts and travel work all pay more, and people who turn up every day get first pick of the next job. This role sits at CW4 on the construction worker classifications. There is a plain English guide to what each level means on our construction worker classifications page.

    Other names for this job

Companies label this role differently and so do candidates. If your last job was called EWP operator, forklift operator, telehandler operator, dogman, rigger, scaffolder, hoist driver, crane operator, excavator operator, skid steer operator, roller operator, plant operator, HRW licence holder, high risk work licence job, and the work matches what is above, this is the same job. We hire on what you can do on site, not on the title.

What we are like to work for

Labour hire has a bad name in places and we know it. What we do differently is simple. You are inducted properly before you start, you are not sent to a site you are not ticketed for, and there is a real person at Marrickville who answers the phone when something is wrong. Timesheets go through the Fieldworker app, so there are no arguments about hours. Do the job well and we keep you working, and the best people get offered permanent roles with the group's own crews.

    Work rights

You need the right to work in Australia. We do not sponsor visas and we do not charge anyone a fee to apply or to be placed, ever. If someone asks you for money to get a job with us, it is not us. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.

    What happens after you apply

    • You get an email straight away confirming we have your application.
    • Someone rings you within one business day, on the mobile number you give us.
    • If you did not attach a CV, reply to that confirmation email with it. It is the fastest way to get in front of us.
    • We keep your details on file. Even if there is nothing today, we come back to people when the right job lands, which is often only days later with hire work.

    Where the work is

Head office is at 4/8 Lilian Fowler Place, Marrickville, and the Queensland base is at 23 Aranda Street, Slacks Creek. Hire work goes wherever our clients are building: greater Sydney, the Central Coast, Wollongong and the Hunter, plus South East Queensland. Some jobs need people who will travel or work away. Say so on the form if that suits you.

    Other roles

We are also hiring: General Labourer jobs (CW2), Trade Assistant jobs (CW3), Tradesperson jobs (CW5). Permanent roles with the group's own crews, from demolition labourers to supervisors and estimators, are listed on the Work With Us page.
