We are hiring general labourers for construction sites across Sydney, New South Wales and South East Queensland. Commercial builds, civil and infrastructure jobs, rail and water projects, and demolition sites run by our own group.

You need a White Card and you need to turn up. If you have worked on a site before you will start faster, and if you have not, there is entry level work where we can put you on with a leading hand and build you up from there.

Perfect Hire is the labour hire arm of Perfect Group. We put inducted, ticketed people onto construction sites for builders, civil contractors and the group's own demolition, concrete cutting and remediation crews. Most of the work is on Tier 1 sites around Sydney and New South Wales, with a Queensland base at Slacks Creek, and a lot of it comes in at short notice.

    What the work is

    • Site clean up, material handling and keeping the work areas clear for the trades.
    • Labouring for the crews: carrying, lifting, mixing, breaking, sweeping, sorting waste for recycling.
    • Helping set up exclusion zones, hoardings, fencing and dust and water controls.
    • Traffic and pedestrian control when you hold the ticket, spotting for plant when you are trained for it.
    • Working under a Perfect Hire leading hand or the client's supervisor on jobs that run days, weeks or months.

    Tickets and experience we look for

    Tell us what you actually hold. Missing one or two is not a problem.

    • White Card. That is the only must have.
    • Any of Working at Heights, Confined Space, EWP, forklift or asbestos awareness moves you up to skilled labourer rates.
    • A rail induction, or a Sydney Metro, Sydney Trains, Sydney Water or Western Harbour Tunnel induction, puts you near the front of the queue.
    • Fit for physical work outdoors, boots and hi-vis, and a reliable way to get to site by 6.30 in the morning.
    • A driver licence and your own transport help a lot because sites move.

    What it pays

    Pay depends on your tickets, your experience and the site. Tell us what you are on now and we will be straight with you. Long hours, weekend shifts and travel work all pay more, and people who turn up every day get first pick of the next job. This role sits at CW2 on the construction worker classifications.     Companies label this role differently and so do candidates. If your last job was called general labourer, construction labourer, site labourer, skilled labourer, general hand, labour hire labourer, casual labourer, entry level construction job, white card job, labouring job no experience, and the work matches what is above, this is the same job. We hire on what you can do on site, not on the title.

    What we are like to work for

    Labour hire has a bad name in places and we know it. What we do differently is simple. You are inducted properly before you start, you are not sent to a site you are not ticketed for, and there is a real person at Marrickville who answers the phone when something is wrong. Timesheets go through the Fieldworker app, so there are no arguments about hours. Do the job well and we keep you working, and the best people get offered permanent roles with the group's own crews.

    You need the right to work in Australia. We do not sponsor visas and we do not charge anyone a fee to apply or to be placed, ever. If someone asks you for money to get a job with us, it is not us. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.

    Head office is at 4/8 Lilian Fowler Place, Marrickville, and the Queensland base is at 23 Aranda Street, Slacks Creek. Hire work goes wherever our clients are building: greater Sydney, the Central Coast, Wollongong and the Hunter, plus South East Queensland. Some jobs need people who will travel or work away.
