Rail induction is the slowest gate in the industry
Rail is the hardest environment to mobilise into at short notice. On top of the project induction, every worker needs a current RIW card, a medical at the right level for the role, and the competencies for corridor access recorded against their card. A worker who is perfect for the job on paper still cannot walk through the gate until all of it lines up.
Our crews are already inducted and carded for rail work. When a subcontractor on the same project is short for a possession, that difference is the difference between the work happening and the work being handed back.
What we supply on rail projects
Protection officers for worksite protection. Site marshals and work marshals watching the whole work area and the movement of people and plant through it. Confined space entry crews and standby personnel. Electrical spotters for work near live services, and plant spotters around machines in tight corridor conditions. Machine operators and general skilled labour.
These roles are supplied together where it helps. A protection officer, marshals and a labour crew from one supplier is simpler to coordinate, and cheaper, than assembling them from three.
Built around possessions
Rail work runs to possession windows: nights, weekends and shutdowns booked well in advance. Our rail crews expect that pattern and turn up for it. We hold the same people on your packages so the site knowledge stays with the work.
