Rail work has its own gate, and its own paperwork
Rail labour hire is not general labour hire with a different high vis. Anyone entering the rail corridor needs a Rail Industry Worker card, which sits on top of a white card, a role appropriate medical, and the competency for safely accessing the rail corridor. Each worker card carries an electronic record of the competencies and medical levels that worker actually holds.
That means a rail package cannot absorb a last minute body from a general labour pool. The card either covers the role or it does not, and the site will check.
The roles we supply
Protection officers who implement worksite protection so the work can proceed safely alongside or within the corridor. Site marshals and work marshals monitoring the wider worksite and the movement of people and plant across the whole work area, rather than watching a single machine. Possessions do not wait for paperwork
Most rail work happens inside a possession, which is a fixed window that was booked months ago and will not move because a subcontractor is short two people. If crew fall through on the Thursday before a weekend possession, the options are a very expensive scramble or handing the work back.
We hold rail carded workers who already work in the corridor, so a short notice gap is a phone call rather than a recruitment exercise. Nights, weekends and shutdown windows are the normal pattern for this work, not an exception we charge extra to consider.
Hourly hire, compliance carried by us
You pay for hours worked. Payroll, superannuation, workers compensation and insurances sit with us. For longer packages we hold the same crew on your work so your protection officer is not re briefing a new team every possession.
